I have the hardest time figuring out when to stop. Especially on bigger pieces, my analytical brain just won't get out of the way and let me hear the little "stop" voice. Thanks for this post!
In my case, I often just don't want to stop. I'm enjoying playing in the paint. So, I just started trying a thing I learned from Lynne (ok, it was awhile ago, but better late than never) and have a few things going. Like some smallish fun stuff that I can go over to and keep painting, instead of wrecking the bigger one.
I think you have a lot of company there. When I get down to the last 10-20% of a painting, I sometimes resort to putting my palette on another table 6 feet away, so I have to walk over there every time I want to reload my brush. (And I still manage to overwork things. 🙄)
Longer one was good too, I thought. Love the close up in the shorter one!
