Lynne - Thank you for this advice. I live between two sets of falls on one of the longest rivers in Nova Scotia. My late husband was an avid fly fisherman and I have been trying to paint a picture of him fishing from the row boat and Having trouble. I plan to follow your advice and make some smaller "planning" paintings of the areas I am not pleased with. Thanks, again. Vickie

I've thought of doing 'test runs' in this manner before but was hindered by the 'wasting paper' syndrome! Now that you've got me over THAT concept, once I start painting again this will definitely be in my tool box!! Lynne, I really like this "looking over your shoulder" format. So much more realistic in the time and effort sense. I hope you find it convenient to do more of these because I can actually see you having the same issues I do ... and how you deal with them!! (my biggest problem is dealing with the 'ugly duckling' stage of a painting. These test runs would definitely help with that, too! Thank you :D
